Leena Gupta was born in Jaipur, India. She spent her formative years in the US and attended Smith College, Massachusetts with a double major in Anthropology and Sociology and a minor in French. A multi faceted person, she is among other things a certified gemologist and jewellery designer working between New York and Bombay.
She considers her journey with AOLF a real blessing. After her Part I Course in October ’99, she experienced incredible healing and transformation in her life which prompted her to continue on the path and there has been no looking back ever since. Shortly after she became a teacher, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar started allocating more responsibilities on her capable shoulders. He asked her to travel and teach full time. When she asked him, “Where should I live?”, he replied “the whole world is your home!”
Although she has a busy schedule, she manages to find time to pursue her favorite hobbies of singing and dancing. Despite not having formal training in dance, she is a recipient of several awards and accolades in dance from around the world. She describes her dancing talent as a gift from God in which she can dissolve and become one with the universe. Students often describe her course as a dance – a flow of grace, knowledge, beauty and strength.
Leena is dynamic, articulate and versatile in her teaching. With her warmth, compassion and ability to share herself, she has a unique way of touching the hearts of everyone she meets. Having a close connection with and spending quality time with Sri Sri, has imbibed in her, beautiful qualities of being a strong, sensitive and loving leader.
